i've made a few craft connections on meetup.com. everyone has been so nice and helpful. what a relief! i've made a plan to attend a few craft meetups, three of which are in brooklyn, to speak to some different crafters. and film them. in the meantime, i've been looking into the bauhaus and arts and crafts movements.
i've also decided to document some of my own craft projects. i've been sewing for a few years now. nothing too intense. i've made a few purses and little things here and there. i even attempted to make a dress. but then sewed the zipper to itself so there goes that project. so i decided to ask my grandma to work with me. thus ensuring an actual wearable dress. she has been sewing since she was eighteen and she's been crafting for as long as i can remember. her knowledge is so helpful and it's really fun to her all her stories. i'll be filming parts of our sewing meetings and here's the first installment.
