I love movies and I want to be a part of them in some way. About a year ago I developed an interest in screenwriting and came up with my own idea for a sci-fi based film. I immediately began working out the plot and started writing. A year later my movie was completed. Although it is still just a rough draft I want to take a class over the summer at Stony Brook University in screenwriting in order to master my skills. I hope to refine my script and possibly send it out to a few agencies by the end of the year. In addition, I hope I will be able to use some of the skills that I will learn in this class to help complete my movie.
I know that Hollywood is a hard industry to be in without the proper contacts. Right now I am just interested in finishing my script and possibly selling it to an agency. If I could have my name in the credits to a film I would be very happy. I am not asking to make a career out of this sort of thing, but that wouldn’t be so bad either.
