these f-in budget cuts do not do justice!
apparently, severing southhammpton saves $6 million in the budget. its something, but there's other ways where we can get the money AND keep such a moving school as that. perhaps increase incoming students?!
i was plotting out my schedule. and its so intricate that i needed to lay down. i didnt feel that confused since the day i discovered blue from blues clues was a female and tweety was a male...!
so there's no room for error. no more taking classes out of sheer interest and curiosity. from now on, btw thanks stonybrook (sarcastic!), i NEED to take classes that really matter and count towards my degree. and with absolutely no help from the loveliest academic advisors possible, im relying on the internet. which, fingers crossed!, they would be so kind as to update for the convenience of students like me.
in high school, i was thinking "hey! stony brook! you're a public school. you're cheap. and you're seriously overrated. and in grown-up world, must mean that you're gona teach me something!" and then i sent in my deposit.
i'd like to know what i was thinking back then.

stumped.
the title says it all. i cant think of any particular theme i want to elaborate on for my video. i stayed up all last night playing around with things and watching youtube to get my brain perking. but it aint workin!
at least i got a little pinch done... i skimmed through the Ajax play and plucked out a particular scene i thought was interesting and moved the soldier-plot further...
theres this part, about 2/3 through the play, where ajax commits suicide. i C&P'd a pretty good part that leads up to the major point, like where he starts to get out his handy dandy sword, and to the point where the chorus mourns.
to me, i thought it was just vulnerability portrayed in the bluntest way. besides putting on a strongface at the front, sometimes the faces are too beleivable that we think soldiers are all tough and rough. but who's to say that they're not emotionally fragile? i know i would be. so this particular spot where ajax commits suicide is like the series finale to an awesome show. anything after that, like a spinoff, would be scoffed at! SCOFFED! because who can follow up on something as heroic as the original?

No more Thr @ SB
I found out last week Figaro/Figaro will be the last theatre production at Stony Brook. I am really upset about this because I don't think the theatre major will survive this. No more production classes, that's horrible. I feel bad for the upcoming students that are looking forward to working in production. Wow, I can't believe it's over. I feel bad for Dave, Peggy and Pan. This affects them the most because they are losing money, and Pan is getting fired. Dave will probably have to get a second job to make ends meet. I am really lucky to have taken production class last year. I worked on Romeo and Juliet and These Shinning Lives. It was fun. I just can't believe that Figaro will be the last play at Stony Brook. The performance was better from what I expected but there is always room for improvement. I think Fanny was great and Suzy too. Figaro was a little annoying at times but he was funny in act I. Act II is always depressing, this is why I have some trouble with this play. It does not have a smooth transition. Oh well, you can't win them all.
Net Book
Kyle got me a net book for our 4 year anniversary. I'm really happy because now I can blog and do my papers when ever I want. Usually Kyle takes his lap top with him if he leaves the house. I hate when he does this because I can't blog. Now even if he takes his mac with him, I can still do my work. Yay for me. My net book is off white and has a design of rectangles. I can't wait until I really put my baby to use.
I am contemplating ideas for my movie. I am still trying to think how this is going to be done because I need a real video camera. I think that my digital camera is too flimsy for this movie. The sound quality is poor, and the images are a little hazy. I like the camera in Kyle's lap top but how can I film a movie on a camera connected to the lap top? Maybe for some scenes I could use it, but not all scenes. I am thinking of doing Hansel and Gretel. I'll cast my little brother and sister as the little kids and I will be the witch. I want sex and violence but I have to be careful with what my siblings could see. After all my actors will be children and I won't cross that line. Maybe I could do a dream sequence with me fantasizing about eating candy. I am thinking of wearing my witch costume from a few Halloweens ago. Oh well whatever I decide, I am going to start shooting Friday and hopefully end shooting on Saturday. On Sunday I will edit my movie or add extra clips. I hope I do a great job.

Budget Cuts
So I just found out about the budget cuts and how Stony Brook University lost $55 million in funding from the state. I am pretty pissed about this and I am wondering how this will affect the remaining year I have left at Stony Brook. I also feel bad for the kids at Manhattan and Southampton campuses because they are being forced to leave at the end of the year. However, it does make me wonder how in the world Stony Brook University will handle this influx of students in the fall. I am also angry because I wanted to take a screenwriting course over the summer and it is not being offered due to the cuts. I really wanted to take it to improve the script I have written. I am trying to look at this from the bright side by considering how much money I will be saving over the summer. I could probably spend a quarter of that money on some program that will advance my script further than that class would have.
Class Schedule
I cannot believe that it is that time of the year again. It feels like I just picked out classes for the Spring 10 semester the other day, but long behold I am now picking them out for the fall. I always hate picking my classes. I always waste my time thinking about the perfect schedule. I also have to take into consideration a number of other factors. For example, I have a good job that I would like to continue during the semester so I want to make enough time for that. I also want to make time for my internship as well as time in between classes to either eat, study, or do homework. In addition, I have to think about how desperately I need a certain class in order to graduate and whether or not the professor is any good (that’s where www.ratemyprofessors.com comes in handy). The weird part about it all is that I only need eleven more classes to graduate within the span of two semesters. I thought it would be easier as you go along, but it turns out it gets harder.
28 Months Later
So obviously I’ve changed my mind about what I am going to do for my fictional film. Originally I thought of doing a spoof of the movie Hostile, but figured that would be too dark and dreary. So that was when I decided to do something based off of one of my favorite movies, 28 Days Later. I figured the 3rd installment should be based in the United States seeing as how it spread to Europe at the end of the 2nd movie.
After watching my fictional film in class on Thursday I noticed a few flaws in the plot and I will try my hardest to fix them up. As Prof. Baldwin already suggested, I want to have this feeling of isolation and loneliness in my movie. I have an idea that would work with what I already have. I may also want to add in an element of de-humanization. Show the people what humans are really like when there all jacked up on rage!
